Blood Donation, PRPP Concludes Series of Activities Commemorating National Occupational Safety and Health Month
Tuban, February 20th, 2024 – As part of the series of activities commemorating the National Occupational Safety and Health Month in 2024, PRPP organized a blood donation program. The event was held on Tuesday (20/02/2024) at the Sopo Del Office Tower in South Jakarta. This activity was made possible through the collaboration between PRPP and the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) Bekasi and it marks PRPP's second event, following a similar program held in October 2023 during the celebration of PRPP's 6th anniversary.
Sigit Pudyoko, Sr. Project Manager HSSE PRPP as the person in charge of the Occupational Safety and Health Month activities at PRPP, stated that the blood donation program is a manifestation of the concern of PRPP and Pertamina employees towards others, especially those in need of blood.
“Alhamdulillah, today's activity went smoothly, and PRPP employees as well as other Pertamina officers were very enthusiastic to participate in this event,” said Sigit during the event.
Sigit further mentioned that during the commemoration of the National Occupational Safety and Health Month in 2024, in addition to organizing the blood donation program, PRPP has also conducted various other activities since January 2024. These activities include internal webinar, games for the PRPP employees, and a mental health seminar.
“Although PRPP is currently in the project preparation stage, we continue to make optimal efforts to implement aspects of health and safety, and the blood donation program, as part of the activities for the National Occupational Safety and Health Month in 2024, is a tangible expression of our commitment,” he added.
Regarding the significance of the blood donation activity, Sigit emphasized that the blood contributions from the donors can provide someone with another chance at life, making blood donation a noble deed that will be remembered forever.
“Thank you for the support from the donors and others who have contributed to this activity. We hope that these activities can bring benefits for the employees and others. We also hope to expand these occupational safety and health activities in Tuban, our operational location, in the future, of course with better programs that bring benefits to the surrounding community,” concluded Sigit.
Meanwhile, Reginna Ika Anggaini, Head of the Mobile Unit Sub-Division at the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) Bekasi, as the person in charge of the blood donation activity at PRPP, stated that blood donation activities before the month of Ramadan, as organized by PRPP, are currently being actively promoted by PMI. This is because, usually, in the second week of Ramadan, the blood bag stocks at both PMI Bekasi and nationally are often depleted.
"The need for blood continues to increase, and at PMI Bekasi itself, blood type A was temporarily unavailable, which is why we continue to make efforts to find blood donation activities like this. We express our gratitude to PRPP for regularly organizing blood donation, approximately twice a year, I hope this activity becomes a scheduled agenda for future events," concluded Reginna. *
