Upholding the Spirit of “No Turning Point,” PRPP Invites the Press to Safeguard the Progress of GRR Tuban Project Preparations

Tuban, 20 December 2025 – Having been mandated to prepare and execute one of Indonesia’s National Strategic Projects with a high level of complexity, namely the Grass Root Refinery (GRR) Tuban Project, PT Pertamina Rosneft Pengolahan dan Petrokimia (PRPP) recognizes the importance of strong synergy between the company and its stakeholders, including the media as a key channel for disseminating information related to the company.

As part of efforts to strengthen synergy with the press, on Saturday (20/12/2025), PRPP and PT Kilang Pertamina Internasional Early Work GRR Tuban, together with dozens of journalists from Tuban Regency, participated in a beach volleyball and mini football tournament at the Mangrove Educational Tourism Beach, Jenu Village, Tuban Regency, in an event titled PRPP Media Forum 2025.

In her remarks, Yuli Witantra, Senior Officer of CSR PRPP, reaffirmed PRPP’s commitment to facing the critical phase of the GRR Tuban Project, namely the attainment of the Final Investment Decision (FID).

“In line with PRPP’s 8th Anniversary theme in 2025, Moving Forward with Resilience, PRPP will exert its utmost efforts to ensure the realization of the GRR Tuban Project. At this stage, it can be said that there is ‘no turning point’ for us—no alternative path other than moving forward to ensure national energy independence through the execution of the GRR Tuban Project,” Yuli stated.

Furthermore, Yuli emphasized the importance of the media’s role, particularly local Tuban media, in disseminating information related to PRPP.

“We believe that the synergy and support of all media partners are essential in shaping positive public perception, especially in reporting on the progress of the GRR Tuban Project as well as other related news,” Yuli concluded.

The event received a positive response from media representatives. Suwandi, Chairman of the Indonesian Journalists Association (PWI) of Tuban Regency, expressed his appreciation and gratitude for the opportunity to strengthen relationships and synergy through the jointly organized sports activities. He specifically praised the ongoing collaboration and the excitement of the competition participated in by Tuban journalists at the PRPP Media Forum 2025.

“Even though we (journalists) are friends, once we are on the field, we compete intensely to win, and that is normal. After that, everything returns to normal. Hopefully, the cooperation between PRPP and fellow Tuban journalists will continue to run smoothly in the future,” Suwandi concluded.

In line with this, Dion, Secretary of Ronggolawe Press Solidarity, also expressed his appreciation for the event and encouraged that similar activities be held regularly alongside other equally engaging programs.

PRPP is a company mandated to develop and operate the GRR Tuban, which is planned to be built on approximately 840 hectares of land in Jenu District, Tuban Regency. The GRR Tuban is projected to have a crude oil processing capacity of 300 thousand barrels per day, producing high-quality Euro V fuel products as well as petrochemical products in the form of polyolefins and aromatics. In addition to focusing on the preparation of the Final Investment Decision for the GRR Tuban Project, PRPP is also, in parallel, in the process of procuring an engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contractor that will later build the fuel refinery and petrochemical facilities of the GRR Tuban.*
