PRPP Promotes Mental Health as a Key to Productivity During National OSH Month 2026
Jakarta, 13 February 2026 – It is commonly understood that pursuing a career in a company aims to achieve a better livelihood. Furthermore, Indonesian Manpower Law emphasizes that employment is not solely a source of income, but also a means to ensure mental well-being and personal development for workers.
Nevertheless, mental health remains an aspect that has yet to receive sufficient attention from relevant stakeholders, despite data indicating that mental health disorders contribute to decreased workplace productivity. In 2024, the World Health Organization (WHO) stated that mental health disorders result in global economic losses of up to USD 1 trillion due to reduced productivity among affected workers.
Recognizing the importance of mental well-being for employees, on Friday (13/02/2025), in collaboration with Telkomedika, PRPP organized a health seminar titled Health Talk: Optimizing Mental Well-Being to Enhance Work Productivity in the Workplace at the PRPP office, Sopo Del Office Tower, Jakarta.
The seminar featured Efnie Indrianie, a psychologist from the Faculty of Psychology at Universitas Kristen Maranatha, as the keynote speaker.
Efnie opened the discussion by highlighting that employee performance and productivity are not solely determined by psychological factors, but are also influenced by neurobiological aspects, including nervous system performance related to brain function and overall physical health.
“Employee motivation is closely linked to neural energy. If the nervous system lacks sufficient energy and the body’s metabolism is disrupted, motivation will inevitably decline,” Efnie explained.
She further underscored the importance of companies implementing dedicated programs to safeguard employees’ mental health.
“When a company neglects its employees’ mental health, the organization does not merely lose individuals, but also collectively loses its brain capacity—its capabilities and competencies,” she added.
Meanwhile, Reizaldi Gustino, President Director of PRPP, emphasized the critical role of employees’ mental health in enhancing corporate productivity.
“Mental health is essential—not only for us as employees but also for the Company. It is not merely about competence and capability; mental well-being plays a crucial role in enabling us to achieve the Company’s targets,” Reizaldi stated in his remarks.
On this occasion, Reizaldi also encouraged all PRPP personnel to consistently implement Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) principles not only in the workplace but also in their daily lives.
The health seminar marked the closing event of PRPP’s National Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Month 2026 commemoration. In addition to the seminar, PRPP organized several other activities, including OHS webinars, quizzes, and competitions such as safety observation contests and safety talk competitions.
PRPP’s commitment to OHS implementation has also earned recognition in the form of the Patra Nirbhaya Pratama Oil and Gas Safety Award from the Directorate General of Oil and Gas of Indonesia’s Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources for three consecutive years, from 2023 to 2025.
