Participating in Action to Deal with Stunting, PRPP Collaborated with Persagi to Conduct Socialization to Community
Tuban, 29 April 2024 - It could not be denied that stunting issue has became serious mater in Indonesia. In accordance with Ministry of Health’s 2022 Survey of Nutritional Status in Indonesia, national stunting level reached 21,6% with East Jave Province reached 19,2%. In Tuban Regency, stunting level in same period was recorded with amount of 24,9% whereas this number was above national stunting average and East Java Province. In order to overcome the issue, Tuban Regency Government has targeted stunting number decrease gradually to 17% in 2023 and 14% in 2024 which surely requires support and synergy of relevant parties to fulfill the target.
In order to commemorate of Kartini Day, PRPP has collaborated with Indonesia Nutrition Association Tuban to initiate program named Cantik Di Hati (Cara PRPP Ikut Mengembangkan Masyarakat Sehat Sejati – The Way of PRPP to Join for Community’s Health Development) in form of Health Seminar tittles Stunting Management as a company’s effort to develop local community capacity especially woman community who domiciled at Grass Root Refinery (GRR) Tuban, Jenu Sub District, Tuban Regency. This activity is also as a part of company’s effort to support Tuban Government’s program to reduce stunting number.
Through this event, Persagi team conveyed importance of nutritious food to children by utilizing available ingredients in surrounding community environments and also practice to serve nutritious and attract the taste of children. In addition PRPP also distributed nutritious comestible to all participants so that all training knowldge could be implemented in ordet to increase family healthy level.
Mentoso Village, Jenu Sub District, Tuban Regency has become first implementation venue which conducted on Monday (29/04/2024). All participants enthusiastically followed the seminar which held at Village Hall Mentoso.
“The woman are bearers of civilization which means that establishment of human civilization begins with the mother where the first education of children comes from the mother,” said Yuli Witantra from Corporate Affairs PRPP in his speech, quoting one of R.A Kartini’s quotes.
Yuli further explains that it is important for woman or mothers to have wide knowledge since first education that establish human civilization is originating from mother and would contribute to society, nation, and country.
"Alhamdulillah, the event conducted in Mentoso is the first implementation location, we later would conduct similar program to other villages located at GRR Tuban Project area for instance Wadung, Sumurgeneng, Rawasan, Beji, and Kaliuntu. And of course, we commit to continue our contribution to other community health capacity building in the future." Concluded Yuli.
Beside being attended by the woman and officials of Mentoso Village, this activity was attended by Esti Surahmi, Head of Health, Population Control, and Family Planning Service Office Tuban Regency and Sub District Leader Forum for instance Head of Jenu Sub District L, Yoeliani Endang Poerwati and Chief of Sector Police Office, Iptu Wakhid Nurcahyo.
Yoeliani Endang Poerwati, Head of Jenu Sub District appreciated the initiative of the program that is considered to be aligned with Jenu Sub District program to handel stunting issue. Several efforts have been implemented for instance one stop service among Jenu Health Center and Religious Affairs Office related to pre marriage healthy education. Yoeliani said that Canti Di Hati program is a form of affection and encouragement to mother to act the role, duty, and function as the real mother in the family.
The same thing was said by Esti Surahmi, Head of Health, Population Control, and Family Planning Service Office Tuban Regency during her speech at the beginning of the event.
“Cantik Di Hati Program is a really good program whereas this innovation has made everything is clear that a lot of things that we need to be addressed related to community health, although stunting management shall remain as a priority.” Said Esti.
This healthy seminar is a form of company’s commitment to support Sustainable Development Goals (SDG’s) especially SDG’s number 3 related to Good Health and Well-Being.
