On Track, Tuban GRR Project Successfully Absorbs 1220 Local Workers

Tuban, January 28^th, 2022 – The dedication of PT Pertamina Rosneft Pengolahan dan Petrokimia (Pertamina Rosneft) in overseeing the National Strategic Project (PSN) of Grass Root Refinery (GRR) Tuban Refinery is shown in its performance in accelerating the project to optimize The Domestic Component Level (TKDN) absorption. As a strategic project, GRR Tuban Refinery is projected to become one of Indonesia's largest refineries and produce quality fuel products such as Gasoline, Diesel, Avtur up to 229 thousand barrels per day. To support this strategic project, Pertamina Rosneft proactively involves local workers where the absorption rate has reached 1220 workers in Tuban area.

President Director of Pertamina Rosneft, Kadek Ambara Jaya emphasized that the company has a high commitment in creating a multiplier effect for Tuban local communities through GRR Tuban project. Kadek added that Pertamina Rosneft's commitment in empowering local workers at Tuban area has been carried out since the land clearing stage. "In total, there are 1220 local workers who were empowered from land clearing stages I to IV. This local energy comes from ring 1 villages in GRR Tuban area including Wadung, Rawasan, Mentoso, Sumurgeneng and Kaliuntu", added Kadek.

In addition to empowering local workers, Kadek ensures that the GRR Tuban project has been carried out in line with the Corporate Social Responsibilty program. "For three years from 2019-2011, the contribution of GRR Tuban's Corporate Social Responsibilty has reached Rp. 23 billion. One of the forms of social programs that we launch is the D3 Scholarship of Politeknik Energi dan Mineral (PEM) Akamigas Cepu for talented students in the Tuban area. This year our scholarship recipient has entered the final stage of his studies. This means that our program is designed to be sustainable and target all levels of society", explained Kadek.

GRR Tuban project has a Domestic Component Level (TKDN) absorption target of 27.85%. Its components include the absorption of local labor during the project, after the project takes place, to quality domestic goods and services. "In fact, GRR Tuban project will participate in using local raw materials in the construction process. To ensure the quality of TKDN, we cooperate with PT Surveyor Indonesia (Persero) in carrying out a vendor assessment project so that vendors really meet the TKDN value in the procurement of goods that will be absorbed in the construction of GRR Tuban", added Kadek.

On Track Overseeing National Strategic Projects

Given the strategic value of GRR Tuban Refinery to support the country's energy security, Pertamina Rosneft is committed to managing this project on track. "Until the end of December 2021, the progress of this project reached 62.77% in the Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) stage. This figure is quite far beyond the initial target of 56.45%. The preparation of this technical design is a crucial phase in the construction of the refinery, because from this FEED, a complete refinery design and specifications will be obtained as the basis for continuing the project", explained Kadek.

GRR Tuban Project is a new oil refinery construction program integrated with petrochemical refineries to realize the country's energy security. In addition to fuel products, the Tuban GRR Refinery aims to produce petrochemical products of 2820 kilo tons per year, and paraxylene of 1300 kilo tons per year. The refinery, which has a processing capacity of up to 300 thousand barrels per day, will be one of the largest refineries owned by Pertamina.
