Maintaining a Conducive Project Area Ahead of Eid, the Project Early Work Team of GRR Tuban Implements Social Program for the Community

Tuban, March 16, 2026 – Having been mandated by PT Pertamina (Persero) to manage land designated for the development of a national strategic project in energy self-sufficiency—the Grass Root Refinery (GRR) Tuban the Project Early Work (EW) team of GRR Tuban, PT Pertamina Patra Niaga, remains committed to supporting community development around the GRR Tuban Project area. Taking advantage of the momentum of Ramadan 1447 H, which falls in 2026, the EW GRR Tuban team initiated a social assistance program in the form of basic food package distribution to underprivileged communities surrounding the project area.

During this year’s Ramadan, the EW GRR Tuban Project team distributed more than 950 basic food packages to communities in need across six villages in Jenu District: Wadung, Sumurgeneng, Rawasan, Mentoso, Kaliuntu, and Beji.

Senior Project Manager of the EW GRR Tuban Project, Fajar Basuki, emphasized the team’s commitment to being present within the community and contributing to social development.

“As part of Pertamina’s Downstream Subholding family, entrusted with managing the land where the GRR Tuban refinery will be built, we believe it is essential to foster strong relationships with stakeholders in Tuban—especially our neighbors in Jenu District—one of which is through this (Ramadan) social program. We hope that what we provide will benefit the recipients and bring added joy during this year’s fasting month,” Fajar stated.

Fajar also expressed hope that the presence of the EW GRR Tuban Project team, beyond ensuring a conducive project area, would also deliver added value to stakeholders in Tuban.

“We hope that our presence is not only to maintain a conducive project environment ahead of the construction phase, but also to build synergy with stakeholders in Tuban so that in the future, we can collaborate more strongly during the execution phase,” he concluded.

Meanwhile, Suwarno (40), a member of the Village Consultative Body of Wadung, expressed appreciation for the social program organized by the EW GRR Tuban Project and hoped that the synergy between the Pertamina Group and the community would continue to be well maintained.

A similar sentiment was shared by Sulikin (42), a village official of Sumurgeneng, who also underscored the importance of this program as a tangible demonstration of Pertamina Group’s concern for communities around the project.

The distribution of basic food assistance during Ramadan has been consistently carried out by the Pertamina Group amid ongoing preparations for the execution of the GRR Tuban Project since 2021. It is expected that this initiative will continue to be implemented and further developed to provide greater benefits in the future.

This program also represents the implementation of sustainable business principles in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 1: No Poverty and Goal 2: Zero Hunger.
