Adding Alternative Seafaring Activities for Fishermen, Pertamina GRR Tuban Helps Provide Waring
Tuban, February 16, 2021 - Pertamina Grass Root Refinery (GRR) Tuban handed over the waring equipment assistance to 101 fishermen in Kaliuntu Village on Tuesday (16/2). Located at Kaliuntu Village Hall, Jenu District, Tuban, the handover of aid began with the symbolic handover of waring from Pertamina GRR Tuban representative, Yuli Witantra with Muzayanatin, chairman of the Barokah Jaya Kaliuntu Women's Cooperative as the company's CSR partner in the procurement and distribution process. Then with strict health protocols, the fishermen one by one received waring which was distributed directly by the Barokah Jaya Women's Cooperative.
Waring is a type of fishing net made of woven plastic and used in catching surface sea catches, such as anchovies or rebon shrimp.
On this occasion, the Head of the Fisheries and Animal Husbandry Section of the Tuban Regency Fisheries and Animal Husbandry Service was also the Head of Kaliuntu Village.
The Head of Kaliuntu Village expressed his appreciation in his speech to PT Pertamina (Persero) GRR Tuban Project for the assistance provided to fishermen "Thank you for the assistance and assistance from the Pertamina team in every corporate social responsibility (CSR) activity held for fishermen villagers in Jenu district, especially in Kaliuntu Village. Hopefully, the assistance provided will bring blessings to all fishermen who receive the assistance", he said.
"Let us support and oversee the construction process of Pertamina's refinery for the progress of the state and nation", Murtadho continued.
Suprapto, one of the fishermen who received the assistance, expressed his joy at the waring assistance. "It will definitely be very useful when going to sea and hopefully increase income as well", he said on the sidelines of the event. On another occasion, Yuli Witantra, a representative of Pertamina GRR Tuban, said that the distribution of waring can be used properly and the use of this waring can be an alternative activity for fishermen affected by the company's operating activities. "We are working with the Fisheries and Animal Husbandry Service and the Barokah Jaya Cooperative to ensure that assistance is received by fishermen who really need waring so that the program can be more targeted. Hopefully, fellow fishermen can maximize the use of this waring as an alternative activity in daily fishing activities to increase income", concluded Yuli.
