Efforts to Improve Health Standards, Jenu's Elderly Receive Vitamin and Pure Honey Aid
Tuban, November 14, 2024 – Indonesia is currently experiencing a demographic bonus phase, a phenomenon where the population structure is highly favorable for development due to a large proportion of the productive-age population. This demographic advantage is expected to peak in 2030, positioning Indonesia strongly in terms of human resources for sustained development. However, alongside this growth in the productive-age population, the elderly population is also increasing, requiring special attention to ensure their well-being and continued contribution to society.
In line with this, as part of its social responsibility initiatives, PRPP organized a social aid program on Wednesday (13/11/2024) and Thursday (14/11/2024). The program involved distributing aid packages to elderly residents in six villages around the Grass Root Refinery (GRR) Tuban Project area: Wadung, Sumurgeneng, Kaliuntu, Rawasan, Mentoso, and Beji, all located in Jenu District, Tuban Regency.
The aid packages were distributed directly by the PRPP team to the recipients at designated locations, accompanied by local village officials. Yuli Witantra, Sr. CSR Officer of PRPP, stated that this program is part of the company’s ongoing efforts to build closer ties with the local community while advancing the GRR Tuban integrated refinery and petrochemical project.
“Alhamdulillah, PRPP has been blessed with the opportunity to share with the local community, especially the elderly around the GRR Tuban Project area. In addition to basic necessities, the aid packages include health supplements such as pure honey, multivitamins, and eucalyptus oil. We hope these will support the well-being of the elderly in our project’s surrounding areas,” Yuli said during the event.
Meanwhile, Dikin (35), a representative from Mentoso Village who assisted with the activity, expressed his appreciation for PRPP’s care for the elderly in his community.
“This program is highly beneficial for our residents. On behalf of Mentoso Village, we extend our heartfelt thanks to PRPP,” said Dikin.
A similar sentiment was shared by Solihin (35), a representative from Sumurgeneng Village, who appreciated the initiative and hoped for the continuation of such programs in the future.
In this activity, PRPP distributed over 260 aid packages to underprivileged elderly residents. This follows the company’s routine social programs, including distributing over 1,000 basic needs packages during Ramadan 2024 to underprivileged communities.
The distribution of these aid packages is also part of PRPP’s commitment to supporting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), specifically Goal 2: Zero Hunger and Goal 3: Good Health and Well-being.
“We hope this aid encourages the elderly to stay motivated, engage actively in their communities, and maintain a positive outlook. Additionally, we ask for everyone’s prayers for the smooth progress of the GRR Tuban Project so it can bring broader benefits to the surrounding communities and Tuban Regency as a whole,” Yuli concluded.
