Jakarta, February 21, 2021 - Pertamina Grass Root Refinery (GRR) Tuban will continue the process of building a new refinery that is planned to operate in 2026. Along with land acquisition reaching its final point, this year Pertamina plans to continue the land clearing process phase 3 and phase 4.
"The phase 3 land clearing process will begin in March and will target 109 hectares of former Perhutani land and 156 hectares of land derived from residents who have been previously released", explained Ifki Sukarya Corporate Secretary of Subholding Refinering & Petrochemical PT Kilang Pertamina Internasional who worked the Tuban GRR project.
For the phase 3 land clearing, it is planned to involve manpower from the villages around the company's operations. Phase 4 land clearing work will be held after phase 3 land clearing work with the target of work targeting the remaining land owned by residents who have been released. " Around 221 hectares that will be released later, the time will adjust to the completion of phase 3 work so that work activities in this project are sustainable and there is no empty time", said Ifki. "The number of workers will be adjusted to the needs and hopefully the community can optimally play a role in the implementation of this work", he continued Mentioned about the process of acquiring relocation land to residents whose homes are affected by determination of the refinery construction site, Pertamina is trying to complete this year process of providing relocation land. "We will complete the process of providing the 20 hectares of relocation land, but we need the support of all parties so that the land provision process can be completed on time but of course in accordance with the provisions of the applicable laws and regulations", concluded Ifki.
