Beware of Impersonation! Circulation of a Hoax MoU Regarding Pertamina Rosneft Land Procurement in Tuban

Tuban, March 22, 2021 - PRPP urges the public to be vigilant against irresponsible actions by individuals taking advantage of the company's name in fraudulent activities. This warning is issued in response to the circulation of a fake Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) claiming to be signed by PRPP's President Director, Kadek Ambara Jaya, with CV Kartika Kusuma (representing Ibnu Muttaqin) regarding a land acquisition project.

PRPP's Corporate Affairs, Yuli Wahyu Witantra, emphasizes that the MoU dated September 7, 2020, regarding the land acquisition process for the development of facilities and infrastructure for PRPP is indeed fake.

The fake MoU, consisting of seven articles, falsely claims Pertamina as the project owner and CV Kartika Kusuma as the main contractor. The individual using the PRPP name is currently carrying out fraudulent activities up to Bojonegoro.

"We urge the public not to believe and be cautious of scams armed with this fake MoU. Since July 2020, PRPP has not initiated any new land acquisition process for the Grass Root Refinery (GRR) Tuban project. In terms of communication, we always provide all official information transparently through various channels," said Yuli.

Referring to Law Number 2 of 2012, PT. Pertamina (Persero) as PRPP's parent company utilizes the consignment system through the courts to settle the remaining land acquisitions. In other words, there is no ongoing land acquisition process in the field, especially through the indirect process involving a third party.

PRPP's President Director, Kadek Ambara Jaya, regrets the presence of irresponsible parties causing harm to the public amid the pandemic situation, with fraudulent practices benefiting from the joint venture between Pertamina and Rosneft from Russia. "In implementing the land acquisition for the strategic GRR Tuban project, PRPP as the project executor always follows applicable laws and regulations, prioritizing fair compensation for the affected community. Our principle is to prioritize synergy and positive impact for the community around the project location," explained Kadek.

The land acquisition process for the community covering an area of 377 hectares was completed by the end of 2020. This land is located in the Jenu Subdistrict, Tuban Regency, East Java, covering the villages of Sumurgeneng, Wadung, and Kaliuntu. As one of the national strategic projects, the GRR Tuban refinery is targeted to be operational by 2026, and it is estimated to employ around 20,000 workers during the project's construction and approximately 2,000 workers during the project's operation.
